Raised in Southwest Florida, Starz’s work has deep ties to her hometown and Indigenous background and upbringing. She mixes photography with her interest in textiles and sewing.

Starz received a BA in English with an Emphasis in Film Studies and minors in Photography and Ethnic Studies from The University of Colorado Denver. Her work has been shown in the Emmanuel Gallery and Blackbox Gallery.
